Hardware Engineer Intern

Location: San Jose, CA

Part-Time/Non-Exempt

Summary:

Work on System and Hardware Engineering projects to support product development.

  1. Generate Manufacturing and Test Process Instruction to Engineering Specifications for product development.
  2. Document System and Hardware Engineering process.
  3. Evaluate system performance.
  4. Assist Engineering and build component-level prototype systems.
  5. Assist Engineering bring up of component-level prototype systems.
  6. Work with Engineering to create project schedule.
Specific duties include but not limited to:
  1. Document the design of hardware and system components.
  2. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to provide system level software and manufacturing test tools.
  3. Provide testing procedures to validate product design.
  4. Consult with the engineering team to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software performance requirements of the system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Must have experience using Microsoft Office.
  2. Must demonstrate technical competence in PC Hardware and Software systems.
  3. Must have strong organization and communication skills.
  4. Must have formal training in Software Engineering, Computer Science,or Electrical Engineering.
  5. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously.
  6. Must have ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
Training and Experience Required:

Junior level working on a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Compensation and Benefits:

Commensurate with experience; plus a comprehensive benefits package.
