LILLE, FRANCE - April 9, 2002
- Quantum3D®, Inc., a
leading provider of open architecture realtime 3D visual computing
solutions for the Visual Simulation and Training (VST) and Embedded
Visual Computing (EVC) markets, today at the International Training
and Education Conference (ITEC), announced plans to expand its
European distribution and support efforts with the signing of
five new resellers across Europe.
The new resellers include VR@work GmbH in
Germany (www.vr-at-work.com), TESS COM M&D Italia SrL in
Italy (www.tess-com.it), Decom Valencia, in Spain (www.decom.es),
JC System Integration in Russia (www.jcsi.ru) and Aerobel Defence
Technology Ltd. in the UK (www.aerobel.co.uk). These companies
will market Quantum3D's world class family of scalable, open-architecture
PC-based image generators (PC-IGS) including AAlchemy,
Obsidian® and Graphite, and OpenGVS realtime
scene management software for the synthetic environment visual
simulation and training market.
In addition to these partnerships, Quantum3D
has a long-standing relationship with Antycip (www.antycip.com),
which markets Quantum3D's complete range of PC-IGs across Austria,
Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and
the UK.
"Our success in providing high-performance,
high-value realtime visual computing products for the training
and embedded markets is growing, resulting in an increasing
global demand for our solutions," said Alvin Brown, who
heads Quantum3D's European sales effort. "In response to
this demand, we have signed partnerships with some of Europe's
leading resellers of visual computing solutions. We are looking
forward to a highly successful relationship with these companies
in meeting the precision training needs of European customers."
To date, Quantum3D includes among its European
customers industry leaders Lockheed Martin Overseas Corporation,
Indra Systemas, Alenia Marconi, Thales Training and Simulation
and Cory/TESS. One of the most important simulation and training
programs implemented by Quantum3D customers is the United Kingdom
Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (UK CATT) program. Implemented
by Lockheed Martin Overseas Corporation, the UK CATT program
is the largest PC-IG deployment to date, as well as one of the
largest simulation projects ever implemented. The Spanish Civil
Aeronautical Training Society (SENASA) program implemented by
Indra and the Helicopter Commanders Tactical Trainer (HCTT)
implemented by Thales Training and Simulation are two other
landmark systems that are based on Quantum3D image generators.
"One of the most important aspects of
our products is that they are open architecture, which means
that our customers and our resellers' customers have a choice
when it comes to selecting runtime software for their applications,"
said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
"Because of our open architecture, companies like Lockheed,
Thales and Corys/Tess all are able to employ their own value-added,
internally developed realtime software, and customers that prefer
popular COTS runtimes, like Multigen-Paradigm VegaPrime, CG2
Mantis or OpenGVS, also have the freedom to choose. This level
of flexibility and compatibility across a range of IG platforms
is unique in the industry and is of great benefit to our customers
and our channel."
