Huntsville,
AL and San Jose, CA - April 29, 2002
- CG2, Inc. a leader in real-time
3D visualization and simulation solutions, and Quantum3D®,
Inc., a leading provider of
open architecture realtime 3D visual computing solutions for
the Visual Simulation and Training (VST) and Embedded Visual
Computing (EVC) markets, today announced the integrated support
of CG2's IData 1.0 for Quantum3D's Sentiris
product. Quantum3D's Sentiris PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) is the
most advanced embedded graphics subsystem available today. IData,
the premier toolkit for development and deployment of dynamic
real-time 2D OpenGL graphics for instrumentation and related
applications, is CG2's newest addition to their product
line.

Developers
of embedded systems can now take advantage of the powerful development
and integration environment of IData and Sentiris to create
a robust, fast-rendering dynamic byte-code for their instrumentation
and achieve unprecedented performance on Sentiris. Sentiris
PMC is based on the recently announced NVIDIA® Quadro4 embedded
GPU, and marks the industry's first commercial off-the-shelf
(COTS) embedded graphics subsystem that is based on NVIDIA's
award winning graphics processor technology. The combination
of Quantum3D's Sentiris and CG2's IData enables military
and commercial embedded visual computing systems integrators,
avionics and vehicle electronics to develop and deploy embedded
"smart displays" and embedded training applications.
"With
IData added to our family of products, developers can now take
full advantage of this innovative toolkit to create embedded
graphics and training solutions," said Barlow Blake, vice
president of marketing at CG2. "We are excited
to work with companies such as Quantum3D to take embedded training
technology one step further."
"IData is one of the first instrumentation packages that
truly takes advantage of the power of Quantum3D's embedded graphics
solutions," said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder and
vice president of sales and marketing. "With IData and
Sentiris embedded visual systems developers can now create
robust, fast-rendering dynamic byte-code for their instrumentation
applications and achieve unprecedented performance."
Sentiris
PMC
Quantum3D's Sentiris is the first PMC that brings the power
of NVIDIA GPU technology to COTS embedded visual
computing
applications. Based on NVIDIA's new Quadro4 GPU, Sentiris delivers
higher performance and better image quality than any PMC available
in the market today - with anti-aliased line and full scene
anti-aliased texture map performance that far surpasses PMCs
based on competitive graphics chipsets. Sentiris supports NVIDIA's
unique nView architecture, which provides dual, independent
outputs - with both digital (LVDS and TMDS) and analog outputs
at up to 2048 x 1536 resolution with 32-bit color and Z-buffering.
For sensor, camera and other advanced video functions, Sentiris
also includes advanced video-in and video-out functionality,
with support for color space conversion, scaling and overlays
for NTSC, PAL, S-Video and RS-170A formats.

Designed
for open architecture applications, Sentiris supports OpenGL®
1.2 under both Intel® IA32 and PowerPC® architecture
systems under Microsoft® Windows® (IA32 only), Linux
and popular real time operating system (RTOS) environments.
Sentiris is compliant with IEEE P1381.1 and is compatible with
VME, CompactPCI, PC-104+, and other single board computers equipped
with IEEE P1381.1 compliant PMC connectors. Sentiris takes advantage
of the Quadro4's PowerMizer technology to deliver unsurpassed
graphics performance with power consumption and thermal dissipation
well under 10 Watts - a power and thermal envelope previously
limited to simple frame buffer and entry level graphics technologies.
Sentiris is available in both convection and conduction-cooled
models (per VITA 20-199x). Sentiris is also designed to meet
the rigorous shock and vibration requirements of Mil-Std-810E
and EMI/EMC requirements of Mil-Std-461D, which makes it perfect
for the hostile environments found in deployed ground vehicle,
marine, avionics and man-portable applications.
Sentiris'
underlying Quadro4 graphics technology is the most powerful
embedded graphics processor ever developed. Equipped with a
128-bit wide interface to 64MB of high-performance DDR memory,
Sentiris is capable of delivering over 2.6 million anti-aliased
lines per second, over 3.4 million triangles per second and
over 400 trilinear filtered Megapixels/sec, which surpasses
competitive PMCs based on 3DLabs® Permedia3 technology
by over 500 percent.

IData
With IData 1.0, CG2 offers a unique methodology of
developing and deploying dynamic 2D instruments into Visual
Simulation (Vis/Sim) applications. IData software tools include
the IData Modeler, the layout editor, the font converter, and
the test data generator. The tools and libraries provided with
IData are designed to dramatically lessen development and integration
time required to field these graphics into simulations, instructor
stations, and other data display and visualization applications.
IData is ideally suited for such requirements as digital and
analog instrumentation, glass cockpit symbology, sensor overlays,
heads-up-displays (HUDs), and interactive virtual consoles.
