ADACEL AND QUANTUM3D CONTINUE SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION IN ATC TRAINING AND SIMULATION WITH NEW CIVILIAN AND MILITARY PROGRAM WINS

Adacel to Employ Quantum3D AAlchemy Image Generators with OpenGVS Realtime Scene Management Software on US Army and ENAV ATC Training Programs

Adacel to Demonstrate MaxSim ATC Tower Simulator with AAlchemy and OpenGVS in Quantum3D Booth (#1212) During I/ITSEC 2002

ORLANDO, FL - December 2, 2002 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider of open architecture realtime 3D visual computing solutions for the Visual Simulation and Training (VST) and Embedded Visual Computing (EVC) markets, announced that Adacel, will employ Quantum3D's AAlchemy™ advanced, open architecture image generators (IG) and OpenGVS™ realtime scene management software in two new major synthetic environment realtime air traffic control (ATC) training programs recently awarded to the company. The programs include the US Army's Fort Rucker ATC Training Facility in Alabama and Italy's ENAV (Ente Nazionale de Assistenza Al Volo).

These new program wins are the latest to come out of a long-standing business relationship between Quantum3D and Adacel. Earlier this year, Quantum3D announced that Adacel selected AAlchemy and OpenGVS for the largest ATC training and simulation program ever awarded - the United States Air Force (USAF) Tower Simulation System (TSS) program. Collectively the programs will provide Quantum3D with several million dollars in revenue over the next few years.

"The market is clearly telling us that Adacel's air traffic control and air traffic management training software and program experience together with Quantum3D's IG systems and software and commitment to life cycle management is a winning combination," said Lionel Léveillé, President and CEO of Adacel. "Over the past year, we have won the majority of major contracts in both the defense and civil ATC simulation markets. These contracts are already opening the doors to others and we look forward to working with Quantum3D to secure more of these major global design wins."

In support of these latest ATC programs, which include realtime synthetic environment ATC simulators for the US Army's training facility at Ft. Rucker and four independent tower simulators for the ENAV program, Quantum3D will provide Adacel with multiple AAlchemy IGs, which provide high-fidelity, high-resolution output with rotated grid full scene anti-aliasing and precision multi-channel synchronization-both of which are essential for advanced ATC applications.

"These latest wins further illustrate Adacel's clear market share and technology leadership in ATC simulation and training, and we're very pleased that Quantum3D visual systems form such a strategic part of their solutions," said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder and executive vice president of marketing and business development. "Our relationship with Adacel is a perfect example of how Quantum3D's business model of selling enabling realtime visual computing products and solutions to leading training system providers with deep subject matter expertise provides our ultimate customers with the best training value. We look forward to many more years of our highly successful partnership with Adacel aimed at meeting the needs of the military and civilian ATC training market."
