ORLANDO, FL - December
2, 2002 - Solutions is the theme of Quantum3D®, Inc at
this year's I/ITSEC, Dec. 2-5, where the company is showcasing
new integrated solutions, hardware and software products and service
offerings to support the Company's training system needs for integrated
visual computing solutions for visual simulation and training
(VST) and embedded visual computing (EVC) applications. Quantum3D
will also be announcing several major customer and partner design
wins during the course of the show, further demonstrating the
strong industry demand for its offerings. Quantum3D products and
solutions are on display at the company's booths (No. 1220 and
852), which occupy over 1800 square feet of the exhibit hall,
as well as in a number of customer and partner booths.
"This year's I/ITSEC is the culmination
of what has been a very pivotal year for the company's growth,"
said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder and executive vice president
of marketing and new business development. "During the year,
we merged with CG2 and acquired Soft Reality in order to provide
our customers with more integrated, higher-level solutions as
well as enhanced component-level products. The products and services
we are demonstrating at I/ITSEC enable the industry to see first
hand how our corporate expansion has already put us well on our
way to achieving our objective."
New Product and Service Offerings
The centerpiece of the Company's booth is Independence,
Quantum3D's recently introduced 4th generation, scalable open
architecture image generator that includes Mantis realtime
image generation software and provides industry leading realtime
performance and Clarity image quality. Independence is also
the first IG that features enterprise class computing capabilities
including high availability, intrinsic P3I and comprehensive IG
management software. Quantum3D has already announced the first
Independence customer win - the U.S. Army's CH-47F transportable
flight proficiency simulator. At the show, Quantum3D is demonstrating
Independence integrated with a SEOS Panorama Lightning display
to illustrate the capabilities of the system to address advanced
aviation and mission rehearsal applications.
Quantum3D is also providing technology demonstrations
of AAgility-- the company's new flexible, midrange IG solution
that provides scalable performance and image quality, along with
comprehensive IG software and high-fidelity NVG/IR and EO sensor
simulation support to meet a range of cost-sensitive ground vehicle,
maritime and aviation applications. More information on AAgility,
including detailed specifications, availability and pricing will
be available from Quantum3D in the coming weeks.
Mantis is featured prominently throughout Quantum3D
and partner booths. At the show, Quantum3D is introducing three
new Mantis plug-ins, including Marine Effects for high fidelity
naval and naval aviation simulation applications, Boston Dynamic's
DI-Guy which enables developers to easily include support
for articulated, animated humans within their Mantis applications
simulation and Channel Masking, which enables developers to selectively
mask IG output to correspond to realworld display devices for
enhanced training fidelity. These new plug-ins, along with Mantis'
existing plug-ins including IData human machine interface,
CIGI and DIS host interfaces and the viXsen realtime dynamic
sensor simulation plug-in interfaces are being demonstrated on
AAgility and Independence IGs in both Quantum3D and partner booths.
Underscoring the Company's service offerings,
Quantum3D is launching CatalystSE-- a comprehensive program
aimed at providing training systems providers with a range of
conversion, optimization and development services to assist with
synthetic environment training system upgrades and new system
development efforts. One of the first capabilities offered under
the CatalystSE umbrella is the conversion and optimization of
SEDRIS Transmittal Format (STF) databases. At I/ITSEC 2002, Quantum3D
is demonstrating how CatalystSE STF conversion, combined with
Quantum3D's open architecture image generation (IG) solutions,
can bring new visual fidelity and enhanced training value to existing
databases by enabling their redeployment with high resolution,
60 Hz update rates, gunnery-quality full scene anti-aliasing and
with advanced IG capabilities such as Fade Level of Detail. In
addition to demonstrating CatalystSE, Quantum3D is demonstrating
CG2 services offerings and integrated solutions for training system
providers.
New Institutional and Embedded Training Program
Wins
In addition to new products and services, Quantum3D is announcing
several new program wins in both the institutional and embedded
synthetic environment training markets.
On the institutional training front, Quantum3D
is announcing that Adacel is employing AAlchemy and OpenGVS
realtime scene management software on two new major synthetic
environment realtime air traffic control (ATC) training programs.
The programs include the US Army's Fort Rucker ATC Training Facility
in Alabama and Italy's ENAV (Ente Nazionale de Assistenza Al Volo).
Adacel will be demonstrating its award winning MaxSim ATC
Tower Simulator, which is based on AAlchemy and OpenGVS
in the Quantum3D Booth No. 1220.
Quantum3D will be also be announcing several
new program wins at Lockheed Martin that employ Quantum3D's AAlchemy®
open architecture image generators (IGs) for Aircrew Training
Systems (ATS) and Weapons System Trainers (WST) for U.S. Navy,
Air Force and Army aviation applications.
Quantum3D and United Defense are also issuing
a joint announcement regarding the successful development of an
embedded training capability for the Bradley A3-which adds momentum
to Quantum3D's success in the emerging embedded training market.
The application features the Quantum3D Sentiris COTS PCI
Mezzanine Card (PMC), the most advanced embedded graphics subsystem
available today based on based on NVIDIA® Quadro®4 Graphic
Processing Unit (GPU) technology. The new United Defense Bradley
A3 program provides embedded training capabilities for both commander
and gunner positions within the vehicle. United Defense integrated
two Sentiris PMCs with VME form factor COTS single board computers
(SBCs) to support independent 360-degree synthetic battlefield
views for the two sighting systems. The Bradley A3 Embedded Training
System is on display in the United Defense Booth-No. 1370.
Quantum3D is showing Sentiris and Quantum3D's range of embedded
training and battlefield visualization hardware and software products
in a number of partner systems including the L3 Communications
Appliqué employed on FBCB2 as well as the General Dynamics
Embedded Training Module for the U.S. Army's Stryker Interim Armored
Vehicle (IAV). In addition, the U.S. Army is demonstrating the
Land Warrior Embedded Training Module, which is based on Sentiris
with software by Reality by Design within the STRICOM Booth.
In addition to it own booths, Quantum3D products
and solutions are on display in the 3D Perception, Barco, Boeing,
DMSO, Elumens, Glass Mountain Optics, J.F. Taylor, Lockheed Martin,
Oasis, Stewart Filmscreen, STRICOM, Ternion, Terrex and United
Defense booths.
