QUANTUM3D DEMONSTRATES TRAINING INDUSTRY'S BROADEST RANGE OF SCALABLE, OPEN ARCHITECTURE IMAGE GENERATION SOLUTIONS AT ITEC 2003
Quantum3D Demonstrates Multi-Spectral IG Solutions for Mission Rehearsal, 60 and
30 Hz Institutional Visual Simulation and Training and Embedded Training Applications

Quantum3D Sensor Solutions: viXsen™ with nVSensor™

LONDON, UK - April 29, 2003 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider of open architecture, realtime visual computing solutions for the Visual Simulation and Training (VST) and Embedded Visual Computing (EVC) markets, today announced its exhibits lineup for ITEC 2003. The featured theme of the Quantum3D booth is "scalability", and the company will be demonstrating its wide-range of software compatible, open architecture Image Generation (IG) solutions.

Quantum3D solutions on display at ITEC (booth No. 418) include the following:

  • Independence™--Quantum3D's 4th generation IG solution for mission rehearsal and advanced flight simulation and training applications
  • Obsidian® FX--Quantum3D's new entry level IG platform that features NVIDIA® Quadro® FX graphics processing unit (GPU) technology
  • Sentiris™-- Quantum3D's NVIDIA Quadro-based PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) for embedded training applications
  • Software solutions--Integrated in the Quantum3D demonstrations are the company's realtime application development tools and digital content, including Mantis™, IData™ and Facets™

Quantum3D also will demonstrate, by appointment, its industry leading realtime sensor simulation solutions, including
Quantum3D viXsen™, a Mantis plug in that employs JRM Technologies' SigSim™ to provide physics-based dynamic IR and NVG sensor simulation, and Quantum3D nVSensor™ sensor post processor. The demonstration combines a multi-channel Obsidian FX-based IG to show high spatial resolution material-system encoded databases. These databases are rendered in realtime with advanced spectral signature synthesis and atmospheric propagation modeling to produce radiometrically realistic sensor displays. To schedule a demonstration, please stop by the Quantum3D booth (#418).

Independence™

The highlight of the Quantum3D ITEC 2003 booth is a four-channel Independence IG with a Glass Mountain Optics Wide Area Single-eye Point (WASP) Display System. Crafted to demonstrate geo-specific fixed wing/helicopter mission rehearsal and advanced flight training applications, the Independence IG includes an IV1-800 forward channel operating in QXGA (2048 x 1536) resolution mode with Clarity™ 16 sub-pixel sample full scene anti-aliasing (FSAA) to provide an industry leading level of image quality, visual acuity and performance.

A key aspect of Independence's overall value is its intrinsic technology insertion capability for low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). As a demonstration of this technology insertion, Quantum3D will show an Independence sub-channel renderer (SR) equipped with the latest NVIDIA Quadro FX GPU technology.

In addition, Quantum3D will showcase its new Unified Channel Storage (UCS™) subsystem for operations in multi-level secure environments, the Mantis Unit Test, and IGM. The Mantis Unit Test is a unique Quantum3D capability designed to facilitate IG integration and testing for demonstrating program specific weather, environmental and special effects. IGM (IG Manager) is Quantum3D's unique software utility that enables IG system administrators to maintain and update Independence systems with unparalleled simplicity.

Obsidian® FX

Quantum3D also launched its new Obsidian FX entry-level, open architecture IG today (see separate release). The Obsidian FX demonstration at ITEC features the NVIDIA Quadro FX family of workstation GPU technologies combined with unique Quantum3D value added software, synchronization and sensor simulation technology. This combination provides IG features, performance, enhanced full scene anti-aliased image quality and visual acuity previously unavailable in entry level solutions that makes the Obsidian FX an ideal platform for medium-resolution ground vehicle, armor, tactics, marine and similar 30 Hz synthetic environment training applications.

Sentiris™ PMC

Quantum3D will demonstrate Sentiris, the company's PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) that brings the power of NVIDIA mobile GPU technology to embedded visual computing applications. Sentiris, coupled with Quantum3D IG software, will demonstrate 30 Hz embedded training applications that provide levels of performance, image quality and visual acuity previously limited to institutional or appended systems.

Finally, Quantum3D will be showing its realtime training application development and digital content products-including IData, Quantum3D's industry leading human-machine interface development tool, Facets, Quantum3D's award winning collection of realtime models and cultural features for visual and sensor simulation applications, and Mantis, the company's advanced realtime scene manager and software IG.
