16, 2003 - Quantum3D®,
Inc. announced today that the Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) has selected
Quantum3D's AAlchemy® Image Generators (IGs) and Mantis™
Realtime Image Generation Software for its T-38 Aircrew Training
Devices (ATD). The T-38 ATDs are an integrated training suite
that simulate flight with a companion aircraft in addition to
a series of networked simulation facilities to provide an unmatched
training capability that replicate flight operations in a non-threatening
environment. This award follows Boeing's prior selection of AAlchemy
IG systems for its F-15C DMT system for both the United States
Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Force. The T-38 program has
taken delivery of 119 systems, and Quantum3D will be delivering
another 41 systems in the coming months.
 AAlchemy
IG systems will be used to drive Boeing's 7 and 4 -channel Visual
Integrated Display System (VIDS). The VIDS is a high-brightness,
high contrast Out-The-Window visual display system that has been
designed to enhance the user's ability to train and maintain critical
aircrew flying skills in a single or multi-ship environment. The
VIDS is an affordable, cost-effective visual system solution with
full mission capability, including air combat maneuvering, target
detection, and advanced air combat tactics. Target detection is
accomplished with the AAlchemy-driven High Resolution Target Projection
System (TPS).
Boeing will also be using the AAlchemy systems
to generate images on the T-38 single channel, Unit Training Devices
(UTD). Boeing selected the AAlchemy IG based on its affordability
and the system's demonstrated ability to meet the T-38's system's
mission-critical image quality and multi-channel performance requirements.
