Independence
Advanced, Open-Architecture, Scalable IG Solution
|
SAN JOSE,
CA, October 27, 2003 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider
of open architecture, realtime 3D visual computing solutions for
the Visual Simulation and Training (VST) and Embedded Visual Computing
(EVC) markets, announced today that Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT)
has selected Quantum3D's Independence Image Generator (IG)
solution, for use in the company's F/A-22 Air Combat Simulators
(ACS). Under the contract, Quantum3D will provide Lockheed Martin
Aeronautics Division with multiple 10-channel and a single-channel
Independence 2000 Series IGs along with geo-specific databases,
moving models, integration services and a Data Base Generation
System (DBGS) in support of the F/A-22 ACS program. This contract
marks the second major IG solution win with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics,
the first being the F-35 ACS announced earlier this year. In addition,
this contract also marks the second F/A-22 related design win
for Quantum3D-- Quantum3D previously was selected by Kaiser Electronics
to provide NVIDIA®-based embedded graphics subsystems to power
the F/A-22 avionics displays. For more information on the F/A-22
avionics design win, please see http://www.quantum3d.com/press/PDF/archive/pr_09-11-01_kaiser.pdf.
To meet the stringent image quality and target
recognition requirements of the F/A-22 ACS, Quantum3D Independence
2000 Series IGs deliver Clarity Full Scene Anti-Aliasing
at resolutions up to QXGA (2048 x 1536) resolution and are designed
to support the F/A-22 requirements that call for sustained 60
Hz performance with extreme resolution support, geo-specific databases
with dense cultural detail and high numbers of moving models.

"All of us at Quantum3D are thrilled to
have been selected by Lockheed Martin for the F/A-22 ACS program,"
said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder and executive vice president
of business development and marketing. "The F/A-22 ACS win,
along with our recent win related to the F-35 shows the growing
momentum behind Independence as the IG solution of choice for
mission critical applications where performance, fidelity and
life cycle value are of the utmost importance."
About Independence
Independence is an integrated, open architecture, multi-channel,
scalable IG solution that is optimized for 60 Hz, geo-specific,
multi-spectral, low-latency synthetic environment visual simulation
and training applications. Independence employs Quantum3D's patented
nVSync technology and a unique system level parallel rendering
architecture to combine up to 16 precisely synchronized NVIDIA
GPU based sub-channel renderers per channel and up to 32 channels
per IG to provide industry leading per channel performance that
scales to 4.8 billion pixels and 15 million triangles per second
combined with Clarity 16 sub-pixel sample full scene anti-aliasing.
Independence includes Mantis, Quantum3D's advanced realtime
scene management software with a unique "plug-in" architecture
that enables Mantis to deliver the most comprehensive set of IG
features and effects available in the VST market. Independence
also features IGM, Quantum3D's comprehensive IG system management
software that provides for simple and intuitive administration
of the IG and all its assets. With its unique, system level parallel
architecture, Independence is the first IG to provide "four
nines" (0.9999) effective system availability for reduced
IG downtime, along with intrinsic pre-planned-product improvement
that enables cost effective technology insertion over the life
of the system.
About Quantum3D
