ORLANDO,
FLA. - Dec. 1, 2003 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider
of open architecture, real-time 3D visual computing solutions
for the Visual Simulation and Training (VST) and Embedded Visual
Computing (EVC) markets, announced today at the Inter-service/Industry
Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) the company
has been selected by NLX Corporation to provide a complete Independence
Image Generator (IG) solution for NAVAIR Orlando, Training Systems
Division, for its' TH-57C Flight Instrument Trainer (FIT) program.
The NAVAIR TH-57C simulators are located at Whiting Field, near
Pensacola, Fla., and are used for Navy helicopter pilot training
in the areas of operation, rescue, and personnel movement. Independence
and the complete family of Quantum3D IG solutions are on display
at Quantum3D's booth (No. 1350) at I/ITSEC, December 1st -4th.
The NAVAIR TH-57C simulator enables pilots

flight and air combat situations at all times of day and in all
types of weather. Under the terms of the subcontract, Quantum3D
will provide an initial Independence 2000 four-channel IG solution,
which features Mantis real-time IG software with enhanced
maritime effects and stimulated NVG capabilities. The TH-57C program
will require up to six IG solutions over the next three years.
In addition to the IGs, Quantum3D is providing the large area,
geospecific database, select Facets moving models and a
CatalystSE Database Generation System (DBGS) for the program.

"We are thrilled to have been selected
by NLX for this important NAVAIR program," stated Mike Raines,
director of business development for Quantum3D. "NLX was
quite clear that they would accept nothing less than full compliance
to the NAVAIR specification, including meeting the short delivery
schedule. NLX selected Quantum3D after conducting a thorough and
competitive process and we are honored to work with them to provide
NAVAIR with this industry-leading solution."
"NLX's selection of Independence for TH-57C
further validates the system's growing prominence as the premier
IG solution for high-fidelity helicopter and fixed-wing flight
and combat simulation applications," said Ross Q. Smith,
Quantum3D co-founder and executive vice president of business
development and marketing. "In addition, the selection also
validates Quantum3D's transition to a solutions-oriented business
model, since the TH-57C FIT represents the archetypical program
that requires Quantum3D's full range of capabilities including
database and DBGS. We look forward to working closely with NLX
to meet the requirements and schedule for TH-57C as well as on
future training system programs."
