LONDON,
UK - April 20, 2004 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider
of open architecture, realtime 3D visual computing solutions for
the Visual Simulation and Training (VST) and Embedded Visual Computing
(EVC) markets, announced today at ITEC that Camber Corporation,
Dallas, Texas, has selected Quantum3D AAgility Image Generation
(IG) solution for a U.S. Navy P-3C training program. Under the
terms of the award, Quantum3D will provide Camber with multiple-channel
AAgility IGs configured to meet the specific requirements of the
program. Quantum3D will be demonstrating AAgility and the company's
family of IG solution products at ITEC in Quantum3D Booth No.
418 and select partner booths.
For the P-3C program, Camber will integrate
the AAgility IG solution into the 14B58 Reconfigurable Electronic
Warfare Trainer (REWT) at NAS Jacksonville in order to support
Camber's simulation of the AN/ASX-4 Advanced Imaging Multi-spectral
System (AIMS). The AIMS simulation is an add-on to the existing
Camber supplied trainer.
"We require a high degree of realism in
sensor simulation for the Navy's P-3C training program, "said
Blake Page, Camber P-3C program manager. "Quantum3D's AAgility
IG solution meets our stringent sensor fidelity requirements and
provides an optimal balance of image quality, performance, fidelity
and visual acuity necessary for this training application."
The Quantum3D AAgility IG solution is designed
to meet the demanding realtime visual computing tasks of entry-level
to mid-range ground vehicle, flight simulation and weapons system
multi-spectral synthetic environment training applications. AAgility
includes viXsen, Quantum3D's unique, realtime physics-based,
dynamic sensor simulation package that features MODTRAN4 atmospherics,
per-texel material code processing that is based on JRM Technology's
SigSim technology. By coupling viXsen with nVSensor,
Quantum3D's hardware-based sensor post processor, AAgility's advanced
sensor channels can deliver high fidelity, realtime simulation
of infrared (IR), electro-optical (EO), and night vision (NVG)
devices. AAgility also features Mantis, Quantum3D's flagship
realtime image generation software that provides comprehensive
IG capabilities such as weather effects, per-texel mission functions
and active scene load management.
Based on the same computing platform as Independence,
Quantum3D's advanced IG solution, AAgility also features NVIDIA®
GPU-based realtime rendering subsystems equipped with Quantum3D's
patented nVSync precision hardware synchronization technology
that enables precision load management and minimizes inter-channel
artifacts in multi-channel applications.
As with Independence, AAgility insures a low
total cost of ownership through its IG Management (IGM)
software that provides easy and efficient IG system administration.
In addition, AAgility also features Quantum3D's unique Intrinsic
Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) that enables affordable
technology insertion of new PC technologies that provide cost-effective
performance and feature updates and minimize system life cycle
costs.
"Given the prevalence of sensor use in
both the U.S. and allied military forces, high fidelity sensor
simulation has become absolutely essential in today's military
training applications," said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder
and president. "AAgility not only meets the high standards
set by the U.S. military but does so at a cost of ownership that
is unmatched in the industry. We are extremely pleased that Camber
Corporation has recognized the AAgility value proposition and
selected Quantum3D as part of its P-3C synthetic environment training
solution."
