SAN JOSE, CA - March 15, 2005 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider of open architecture, realtime visual computing solutions for the Visual and Sensor Simulation Training (VSST) and Embedded Visual Computing (EVC) markets today announced the appointment of Tom Kais as vice president of finance. Kais joins Quantum3D from NextG Networks, Inc., a regulated facilities-based telecommunications carrier.
In announcing the appointment, Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder and president, said, "Tom has worked with a variety of high growth, fast paced technology companies, from Fortune 500 corporations to venture backed startups. While at NextG, Kais led the finance organization to raise over $40 million in new funding and implemented controls to transition the company to profitability. He also has held positions as corporate controller or director of finance at Philips, Vertical Networks, Santel Networks, and KAO Infosystems. Kais is a CPA and has an MBA from Santa Clara University.
