QUANTUM3D ANNOUNCES INDEPENDENCE 2500 IG SELECTED FOR B-2 SIMULATOR PROGRAM

Independence 2500 IG Provides Integrated Visual and Simulated Radar Channels for the B-2 Pilot Evaluation Simulator (PES)

Quantum3D® Independence™ 2500 IG Out-the-Window Realtime Screen Capture

SAN JOSE, CA - April 5, 2005 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider of COTS, open-architecture, realtime visual computing solutions for the Visual and Sensor Simulation Training (VSST) and Embedded Visual Computing (EVC) markets announced today that the Quantum3D Independence™ 2500 Image Generator (IG) Solution has been selected by Northrop Grumman Corporation for use in the Pilot Evaluation Simulator (PES) for the B-2 Stealth Bomber.

The Independence 2500 will provide an integrated set of simulated radar and visual channels for simulated missions over Quantum3D's GeoScapeSE™ Southwest USA WGS-84 COTS Database as well as a new sensor and visual training area extending from Tinker AFB to Whiteman AFB. Built on the same innovative System Level Parallel Rendering Architecture as previous Independence IG generations, the Independence 2500 features enhanced IG performance and functionality achieved by system-wide technology insertion and upgrades in the system's scene generation software, management software, rendering, and channel compositor elements.

The Independence 2500 Radar System Simulation is based upon Camber Corporation's COTS Radar Toolkit®, which presently serves as the basis for over 100 radar simulators in various training applications. The radar simulation is hosted on an integrated hardware channel within the Independence 2500 IG utilizing the NVIDIA® QuadroFX® Graphics Subsystem equipped with Quantum3D's patented nVSync™ precision synchronization technology which supports a number of video formats typical of radar raster heads-down or multi-function displays.

The Quantum3D Independence 2500 Image Generator (IG) was selected to fulfill the radar and cockpit video simulation requirements of the B-2 Pilot Evaluation Simulator after a thorough technical evaluation of available Image Generation systems. The selection was based on the performance and flexibility offered by the Independence 2500 system at an affordable cost.

"The B-2 aircraft relies on a number of sophisticated sensor systems to fill its integral role with the U.S. Air Force," notes Gordon King, Quantum3D director of application engineering. "The new Independence 2500, with integrated Camber Radar Toolkit™ Digital Radar Landmass Simulation channels, allows flight hardware systems to be simulated with an unsurpassed degree of realism."

"The Radar Toolkit will provide flexibility in the radar simulation thus enabling the user to maintain currency between the B-2 aircraft and the B-2 Pilot Evaluation Simulator," said Dave Hallforth, Vice President of Camber Corporation.
