ORLANDO, FL - April 4, 2006 - Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider of COTS, open-architecture, real-time 3D visual computing solutions for the Visual and Sensor Simulation and Training (VSST) and Embedded Visual Computing (EVC) markets announced today that Simulation & Training Industry veteran Steve Detro has accepted the position of Vice President of Business Development for North America. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Steve will direct business development efforts for the Visual and Sensor Simulation and Training team.
In announcing Mr. Detro's appointment, Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D co-founder and president said, "Steve has a well respected reputation and a long list of successful program wins in the VSST market. Mr. Detro brings over thirty years of distinguished experience in relevant business development, program management, fighter flight operations, aircrew training, simulator research, and cockpit design. Mr. Detro has extensive experience in developing strategies, executing capture plans and managing capture teams for successful business development efforts. Mr. Detro brings executive level industry association leadership experience as the I/ITSEC 2004 Program Chair and I/ITSEC 2006 Conference Chair as well as the Vice-Chairman of the NTSA Executive Committee.
Mr. Detro previously held executive level positions in sales management, business development, and program management in the Visual Simulation & Training market at Barco Simulation, SGI Federal, Lockheed Martin Information Systems, Real 3D Inc., Martin Marietta, and GE Aerospace. Mr. Detro also served 27 years in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve where he ultimately held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and flew as a combat qualified fighter pilot in F-100, A-7D, F-4 and F-16 aircraft.
