Thermite® TVC-2.0 Model TL and Farsight™ 3700TL 3.7” VGA Hand Held Tactical Display |
LONDON, UK, JUNE 26, 2007 – Quantum3D, Inc., a leading provider of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS), open-architecture, realtime visual computing solutions is demonstrating its Thermite® Tactical Visual Computer (TVC) at Soldier Technology 2007, being held 26-27 June at the Olympia Conference Centre, London, UK. A Thermite TVC-2.0 Model 1300 may be seen on the ABSL Power Solutions Stand (No.14) demonstrating its use alongside ABSL’s newly launched high-energy re-chargeable battery pack designed to power the next generation of man-portable soldier systems.
About the Thermite TVC-2.0 Family
The Thermite TVC is the first multi-role, small form-factor, COTS family of Tactical Visual Computers specifically designed to enable PC-based, graphics and video intensive, network-centric C4ISR, C2, unmanned vehicle control, embedded training, maintenance, and mission rehearsal applications to be deployed in both vehicle-based and man-wearable severe environments. The Thermite TVC family supports open-architecture PC operating systems and features advanced embedded computing, 2D/3D mobile graphics, video capture and display, low-power consumption for long battery life, and extensive commercial and military I/O including GPS in a lightweight, conduction-cooled, alloy enclosure for operation in Mil-Std-810F and Mil-Std-461E extended environments. The Thermite TVC-2.0 family includes a range of models tailored to meet the specific needs of man-wearable, vehicle-based, naval and airborne applications. The combination of these unique capabilities allow system integrators to rapidly bring the power of PC-based workstation applications to forward operations, which is why elements of the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as allied governments have selected Thermite TVC-2.0 for operational deployment in numerous severe environment civilian and commercial applications
About Thermite TVC-2.0 Model TL
Optimized for man-wearable applications, the Thermite TVC-2.0 TL is the smallest Tactical Visual Computer on the market today. The small form factor and weight (0.75 kg) of the Thermite TVC-2.0 Model TL, combined with its PC compatibility and unique video capture and display and 2D/3D graphics capabilities, makes the TL ideal for man-wearable 2D/3D graphics and video-intensive deployed C4ISR, UAV/UGV control, mission planning, mission rehearsal, biometric verification and 2D/3D-augmented reality-based maintenance deployed applications. By combining state-of-the-art embedded computing, mobile graphics, extended-environment packaging and conduction cooling technologies with support for open-architecture operating systems, the Thermite TL sets a new standard for mobility, long battery life, ruggedisation and realtime visualization capabilities in a small, man-wearable computer. The TL is available with an optional Quantum3D Farsight™ 3700TL 3.7” Tactical Hand-Held Touch-Screen VGA display and control device which uniquely incorporates low power consumption and a small footprint to satisfy a broad range of requirements for command-and-control interfaces and man-worn visual display capabilities.
