Independence® IDX 4000 (ER)

Overview

The Independence® IDX 4000 generates reality in real-time. It is ideally suited for a wide range of mission-critical military and civilian applications that require synthetic environment simulation, training, or mission rehearsal. Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and open architecture, the IDX 4000 image generator enables rapid deployment for a wide variety of simulation and training applications. For the most demanding applications, the IDX 4000 enables combining two or four GPUs into a single channel, yielding performance available nowhere else in the industry.

With some Export Restricted (ER) features, the IDX 4000 is also designed to meet the demands of today’s most advanced synthetic environment sensor and visual simulation, training and mission rehearsal application. With its Mantis® Real-time Scene Management Software and viXsen® Physics-Based Sensor Simulation Plug-In, Quantum3D Enhanced Sensor Simulation Technology (QUEST2) and IG Management (IGM) System Administration Software Suite, the IDX 4000 has the most comprehensive set of essential IG features. These features include complete compatibility with important visual simulation standards, unmatched technology insertion capabilities, as well as industry-leading image quality, visual acuity and performance.

The Independence® 4000 is the perfect candidate for military fixed- and rotary-wing flight simulation, aerial refueling simulation, gunnery training, hardware-in-the-loop sensor simulation, ground vehicle simulation, fixed- and forward-based air traffic control, ship’s bridge simulation, mono & stereo scientific visualization, and virtual reality.

Features and Benefits

Scalability and Fidelity – Support for single GPU and composited channels with 1, 2, or 4 renderers with synchronization of up to 32 independent channels per IG.

Open Architecture – The IDX 4000 supports industry-standard CIGI 3.x messaging protocol over dedicated Gigabit Ethernet, and industry-standard database formats including OpenFlight®, NPSI, CDB, and CTDB.

Unsurpassed Image Quality – Clarity™ full-scene anti-aliasing with support for 4, 8, 16, and 32 sub-pixel samples (SPS); Z++ enhanced precision depth buffering.

Shader-Based Real-Time Rendering – Enhanced realism with volumetric clouds, rotorwash, dynamic ocean effects, DI-Guy animated characters, SpeedTree 3D trees, and real-time shadows.

Centralized Storage – Independence® Centralized Storage Architecture (CSA) provides consolidated, convenient, removable RAID subsystems that reduce system cost while improving upgradability.

Export Restricted(ER) Features and Benefits

Sensor Enabled – The IDX 4000 ER supports QUEST™ and viXsen® for correlated, physics-based NVG, IR, Day Camera and EO Simulation applications and Stimulated NVG applications.
