Quicksilver® ATX 6000

Overview

Quicksilver® ATX 6000 is a versatile, high-performance visual computing platform at an affordable price. It offers the same professional-quality NVIDIA® Quadro® FX graphics as our Independence® 6000 IGs. The ATX 6000 comes bundled with Mantis® realtime scene management software and supports application-specific plug-ins: Advanced Weather supporting volumetric clouds, storms, cloud shadows and layered fog; Advanced Marine; Rotorwash; Spotlights; RunwayFX; DI-Guy animated characters; SpeedTree 3D trees with dynamic wind effects and Real-time Shadows.

The Quicksilver® platform features a unique, convertible chassis that is configurable as a deskside or a 4U rack-mount system. It comes equipped with a dual-redundant power supply, server-class motherboard and up to 5 TerraBytes of data storage for large area terrain databases.

Applications

The Quicksilver® ATX 6000 is a core component of other Quantum3D systems. It is the ideal choice for military fixed- and rotary-wing flight simulation, aerial refueling simulation, gunnery training, hardware-in-the-loop sensor simulation, ground vehicle simulation, fixed- and forward-based air traffic control, ship’s bridge simulation, mono & stereo scientific visualization, and virtual reality. A low-cost IG solution with long life cycle support, configuration management, high performance, and advanced special effects make the Quicksilver® ATX 6000 ideal for simulation and training applications.

ATX 6000 serves:

  • As the core component of the IG Controller in our Independence® IG product line
  • As the core component of our CatalystSE™ Database Generation System, hosting the complete suite of database tools that enable our DBGS to create and preview databases with the same fidelity and realism as those we deliver with our IGs
  • As a development platform to support early host integration of host and display interfaces while awaiting delivery of an Independence® IG
  • As an image generator for entry-level 30 and 60Hz applications
