n There are distinct drivers for differing uses of Sentiris CVxx under Windows 2000 and Windows XP
|
Win2KnXP |
Driver install recommended for Sentiris users not connecting an LVDS digital flat panel display . |
|
Win2KnXPLVDS |
Driver install required for
Sentiris users connecting an LVDS digital flat panel display.
Does not require that LVDS panel have EDID support for it to work (although
some work with Quantum3D Engineering group may be required to support
such displays.) If a CRT is connected, it takes precedence
as the boot display. |
n Setup of WDM (video capture) devices has been separated out into a distinct setup in the wdm directory.
|
wdm |
Sentiris video capture drivers. Invoke this Setup after the appropriate setup above. |
n
Requesting a TMDS output resolution greater than the maximum-supported
1280x1024 could hang Windows XP.
n
Multiple wglCreateContext / wglDeleteContext cycles abort client
program or hangs graphics when these actions are performed by an application
thread distinct from the one that created the Window.
n
This driver can drive two LVDS outputs from Sentiris 4110 CV03
model, with an appropriate video BIOS (differs from that which shipped)
n
Connecting an LVDS display likely to require work with Panel
Supplier and Quantum3D
Not so much a problem with Sentiris, but a reflection of the state of the industry
for LVDS
digital flat panel displays (DFPs.) Sentiris has shipped with ingrained
support for the
timings of 1024x768 DFP displays. Plug-and-play DFPs (those that respond
to EDID
queries from Sentiris) may also connect and work with minimum effort.
But, in general,
support of an arbitrary new LVDS panel will require a cooperative effort between:
à
the customer (integrator, typically) and Quantum3D to get Sentiris’
BIOS to output signal
structure and timing appropriate to the panel, and
à
the customer (integrator) and his panel supplier, to prototype
a cable the bridges a
panel-specific connector to Sentiris’ 30 pin SPWG-specified connector
(JAE Electronics FI-XB30S-HF10
or equivalent.)
